A year ago I would have said, "Bull crap. That is one of the hardest decisions you could ever make!" But now, I think I'd mostly agree with that statement. I can't say for sure since I haven't decided who I will marry, but I think it should be easy to decide because it should be obvious to both parties that they're supposed to marry. It seems like most of the married couples I talked to "just knew," and sure, maybe they had some doubts, but deep down, they were completely sure who to marry.
If it's not obvious, or if one of the partners is agonizing over the decision, then I'd either think that 1) they're not the person to marry, 2) they're not ready at this time for marriage, or 3) there's some fear in their life that they need to deal with. I don't think that deciding who to marry should be a scary decision that makes you worry and agonize like I used to think it was. I need to write a blog about this.
