An oldie but a goodie

"You were meant for me" by Jewel

Jewel causes me to wish I was a singer/songwriter/guitarist. So beautiful.

Even if its a song about a break-up, there's nothing like music from the 90's to make me smile! The other night, I was at one of my favorite bar/restaurants and there were some performers that kept playing 90's songs, and it totally made my evening :)

I love Jewel. Have you seen her doing Who Will Save Your Soul recently? It's really different and amazing. She did it on a PBS special that I saw.

Yeah, looking at the imagery of the video, it could be about someone who's died. The way he's interacting with her, it's like he's just a spirit or a memory, but they're not truly interacting or connecting. She remembers him strongly and feels his presence, but he's not present.

I think the song is about a breakup, but the video seems to have a lot of death imagery, but sometimes breakups feel like a death. It's also not uncommon for videos to have a different story than the song. For example, Pat Benatar's Love is a Battlefield seems to be about young love, but the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9J9rTZJBmw seems to be all about her leaving her family and trying to make it on her own.

And yes, we do need to catch up! I miss talking to you. I'll try to call you tonight when I get done with clients, probably after 9.
