i need to take a step back. i need to enjoy the simple things in life once again. i have this longing for simplicity, yet it is almost cruelly out of reach...

any ideas?

living the simple life is never out of reach. believe me... i finally figured out how to have it. i've just learned to do those little things that i find joy in despite what others might think about it (for instance, watching friends as often as i feel like).

i make time to lay on my bed with just a table lamp and read a book... i sit and listen to my favorite music for thirty minutes without doing anything else but thinking or zoning out completely. i sometimes just keep driving when i have an extra thirty minutes or so... and i just think and watch the countryside.

you can still do all the crazy, busy things you've got to do... but just make a little time each day or week to spend time with yourself... doing little things that make you happy.

and yes... go see once... it's nothing like a typical musical. the only reason i say it's a musical is because it's a movie with song and music as a central theme. but not in the catchy everyone randomly breaking into song sort of way.

it's wonderful. perfect in its simplicity.
